2-3 years old program

Our 2-3 year old classes focus on developing children's social skills so that they can contribute and gain confidence in a group situation. Songs are introduced to develop children's language, listening and counting skills. Children play games, participate in simple dances and action songs, and play a range of percussion instruments. Puppets and a variety of props are used to stimulate children's imaginations and encourage focus. All activities are designed to lead children to an understanding of the elements of music such as beat, pitch, dynamics, tempo and style. The adults attend classes with their children. When children first enrol in the 2-3 year old program they will receive a Bumblebee hand puppet and a Mini Maestros 'Walk and Talk' CD. The Bumblebee puppet is used as a learning aid in every class throughout the year to assist children with their singing. Each term's enrolment also includes a music book to allow children and carers to follow up class activities at home.
