4-5 years old program

As the Mini Maestros programme is sequentially developed, our 4-5 year old classes are designed for, but not limited to, children who have previously participated in our music education program. Children are taught to read simple notation through stimulating games and visual reinforcement, and basic sight singing techniques are introduced. Each child has a set of chime bars. The chime bars are played in ensemble activities where children learn about harmony and part-work. Pre-reading and writing skills introduced in the 3-4 year old program are built upon and extended. Children also participate in dances, singing activities and musical games. Children may attend these classes on their own and parents are invited in for the last 10 minutes. When children first enrol in the 4-5 year old program they will receive a set of chime bars along with a different music book each term. Children use the music books in class and also for simple and fun 'homework' activities.
