My 2 sons are in Ossia music school at Civi centre for their beginners class. I chose this school mainly cos its conveniently located near my place, the fees are more affordable and also I am able to fix the same teacher to teach both my sons. It's a 1 to 1 class for about 45mins. Sometimes I would ask the teacher if I could sit in and watch and she is quite good to allow me but warned that it is usually not allowed. Every lesson she will go through with me what has been taught today and which are the areas that we need to go home and practice more for the next lesson. I feel that the teacher is most important in bringing out the interest and passion for music. There is also homework and required to buy manuscript to practice writing notes. This is more for theory I guess. So far both my kids enjoy going there and learning new pieces almost every week. The downside is that there is no make up lesson and so we usually have to plan our holidays when there's no piano classes.
