The Literacy and Numeracy Programme focuses on reading, writing and basic Mathematics skills for preschoolers aged 4 to 6. The programme will be conducted by trained preschoolers. Classes will be conducted once a week (2 hours) at various community centres. Children from these classes who need additional reading support will be matched with volunteers who will make weekly home visits to their houses to read to them. The main purpose of this is for the volunteers to further reiterate the lessons that were covered during the week at the community centres.
