Decided to find a playgroup that allows 18 months old and not a parent accompanied class and finally found one near my place. Its a short class of only 2 hours. The school allows parents to be around for only the first 3 days. The first month was a disaster for me as my child has some separation issues but gradually he got used to it and is now managing better. Their fees are affordable and location is convenient for me. Although its a 2 hour session, I feel that the actual teaching / learning time is only about an hour as there will be time used on things like measuring kids temperature, assembly, snacks about 15 mins, play time, singing time. I don't expect him to learn many things but more of being able to socialize with the other kids and prepare him for entering full day child care next year.
