The P1 English and Mathematics Head Start programme is designed to bridge the gap between Kindergarten and Primary One. The structured coursework ensures students undergo gradated exposure to the demands of the Primary One & Two syllabi for English and Mathematics, to prepare them for what they will face in the years ahead.

Have started this program start of this year for my K1 daughter since my P1 daughter is also having her English and Math lessons there. This program requires the child to be able to sit through the 2 hours class. English and Math will be taught for each lesson. It will also require a lot of writing and copying from the board as the teacher will go through the worksheets with them. It is also expected that your child be able to read and write. This is not a phonics learning class and no phonics will be taught. More focus on doing worksheets that the school prepares. Worksheets includes sentence arrangements, simple cloze passage with helping words, writing of sentences, and for math additions and subtractions, arrange numbers from biggest to smallest etc.
