Lessons last for 45 mins and they cover 5 different areas of sports in each term. The good thing is that it is held at Kovan sports center which is covered and the field is good. No need to worry about hot sunny weather or insects. The teacher will usually get the kids to gather in a circle and start off with warm up exercises like stretching, arms rotation... The good thing about it is that parents are allowed to be there to observe and assist their child too. For athletics, there are different areas of training etc jumping, running the loops on the field, throwing of bean bags, balancing etc before the class end, there will also be a cool down session with some more stretching exercise and the teacher will always encourage water breaks to ensure that the kids stay hydrated.
Enrolled my daughter to Ready Steady Go Kids at Kovan Centre who is in K1 hoping she will be more active as she is rather a shy kid. Each class is conducted once a week on the weekend and lasted for 45 mins. She is exposed to various sports like basketball, hockey, golf, etc. Before the trainer starts on any sports, they will go through some form of stretching and warm-up exercises. The trainer will also introduce the kids on the sports e.g. the basketball, the loop, the baseball bat, the hockey sticks etc. demonstrate techniques on how to play the sports. I think the kids enjoyed most on scoring goals. My daughter always look forward to attending the class each weekend.
Ready Steady Go Kids comes to my boy's childcare centre every week and they will bring along all the barangs: balls, hoops, flags etc for the kids' 1 hour 'PE' session. When I peep from outside, I see that they set up different stations for the kids to try different activities, different sports everytime. This is not so serious stuff for young kids to handle, yet get to have a taste of different sports. Thought that is a fun 1 hour workout session for my boy - he seems happy moving/ running around.
