The Alpha Lamda/ The Thinking Child
The Alpha Lambda program takes a two pronged approach to developing children. This approach is derived from early childhood development and teaching theory. Development when a child is developing, they grow the skills needed to live and to learn. Development is a function of nature. Learning using learning ability they have developed to grasp and understand higher order information like math and language. Activities focus on the way children experience and interact with their world. The program encourages a child to use their natural inquisitiveness about the things around them to develop cognate skills. We will introduce and practice mathematics, imagination and science to feed the child s curiosity. Once off materials fee: $70. Fee payable per month for 8 or 9 lessons

My 2 years old boy has been attending tots classroom for the last couple of months.. I like the flexibility of allowing the parent to attend class with the child until he is ready to attend independently. And if the parent is not in class with the child, they take the effort to take photos of your child in class and send them to parents , to ensure them that the child is participating well in the lesson that day, The teachers are very lively and enthusiastic , and engaged well with the children. Every lesson my boy is involved in different kinds of craft and play, using their diy learning materials. The center even offer free rental of their busybags to parents, which i find it very useful as it gives me ideas on what I can teach my child at home. School fees are also reasonable, and most importantly , my boy is always looking forward to attend his class.
My son who is coming to 5 years old this year attends The Tots Classroom at Bedok. Parents are allowed to join in the classes and so I participated and quite like their teaching method. They engage the children via learning through play and so they can be more interested to learn and also remember better. The teacher will go through each activity and for each activity, she will then briefly explain the objectives of it and what is expected to be learnt. At the end of the lesson, she will then recap what has been taught in class. She will also advice parents to go home and revise with their child to further reinforce what has been taught in class. They do offer free trial classes and so you may want to call and enquire.
