Mandarin Expression!
With our rigorously developed curriculum, our mandarin classes for kindergarten children aims to bring mandarin from page to stage, where children not only love reading, but are confident in expressing themselves in Mandarin, through both the written and spoken word.As such, our Mandarin Expression! programme encourages students to express themselves through multiple mediums. Through various multimodal activities such as dialogic reading, role-playing, creative writing, art and craft, games etc in our lessons, we allow students to find their niche in expression. Our small class size allows students to receive greater attention and affirmation from our caring and passionate teachers, while at the same time not sacrificing the social aspects of language learning. Emphasis is also placed on preparing students for the rigour of primary school by giving them a head-start into the MOE chinese language curriculum. This is an independent programme.

Initially I thought that the centre was located at Tanglin Shopping Mall and was surprised when I called the centre and told it was actually located at Tanglin Shopping Centre. Luckily I drove and it was just few buildings down the road. Since this is a drop off class, it was a good place for me to shop around Orchard Road while waiting to pick my daughter. From the materials given, I like the word cards the best where we as parents are encouraged to use them to form simple sentences with our daughter. In this way, it not only teaches her how to recognize each words but also reading a proper sentence in a fun way.
Called to make an appointment and was adviced lesson starts at 930am. Was a wasted trip as lesson started at 1030am and we were in a rush for another lesson. The teacher called to apologize for the wrong information and sceduled us for the next week. Actually would prefer to speak in chinese even for enquiries as this is a chinese lesson. Subsequent week we went for the lesson and the teacher was very engaging. I was suprise that my child would sit still and listen as she is always too easily distracted or bored at her age of 18mths. There was self introduction then singing and reading. I like the craft they made too. A hen, and then they sung the hen song. Each child was taught to diy with their parents. Lastly we end off with a song tat jumps on one feet. They were told to stand on cushion etc. My child could not follow yet as she cant balance on cushion. The bigger children seem to enjoy though. :) overall i like how my child participated in the lesson. Will consider for future chinese lesson when she is older, thanks youle!
